Upright Storage Freezers

Upright freezers give you the most frozen storage for the floor space they take up. Here's how to choose.

1. Choose the size

Single door models usually hold around 500 to 650 litres, with two and four door models for kitchens that need more. Think about how much frozen stock you hold between deliveries.

2. Full doors or split doors?

Split doors keep more cold in when you only need one shelf. Full doors make it easier to load bulk boxes.

3. Measure your space

Measure the width, depth and height, plus the delivery path. Leave a gap around the unit for airflow, because a unit that can't breathe works harder and wears out sooner.

4. Temperature and climate

Most models run between about -22°C and -18°C. Check the maximum ambient temperature in the spec table, and choose a tropical-rated model if your kitchen or bar runs hot.

Food that's meant to be frozen must stay frozen. Avoid loading in large amounts of warm product at once, keep door seals clean, and check the temperature regularly.
