Electric and induction fryers are easy to install where there's no gas, and benchtop models suit cafés, takeaways and smaller menus. Here's what to check.
1. Electric or induction?
Standard electric fryers heat the oil with an element in the tank. Induction fryers heat more efficiently and recover quickly, which saves energy over time.
2. Single or twin tank?
Twin tank models let you fry different foods at the same time without mixing flavours, for example chips in one and seafood in the other.
3. Check the power
Some fryers plug into a 15A outlet, while larger and induction models may need three-phase power installed by an electrician. Check the product page before you order.
4. Oil and cleaning
Look at oil capacity and how easily the tank and baskets clean. Commercial fryers also need suitable exhaust ventilation.
