A good display fridge keeps drinks and grab-and-go food cold and puts them right in front of customers. Here's what to consider.
1. Choose the number of doors
Single door uprights suit cafés and smaller shops. Two and three door models hold far more stock and make a bigger impression in convenience stores, takeaways and service stations.
2. Glass doors and lighting
Clear glass doors and good internal lighting make products easy to see, which drives impulse sales. Hinged doors suit most shops, while sliding doors work better in tight aisles.
3. Measure your space
Measure the width, depth and height of the space, plus doorways for delivery. Leave a gap around the unit for airflow, because a unit that can't breathe works harder and wears out sooner. Use the Width and Capacity filters on this page to narrow the list.
4. Climate, power and food safety
Check the maximum ambient temperature in the spec table, and choose a tropical-rated model if your kitchen or bar runs hot. If you stock food as well as drinks, keep it at 5°C or below as required by the Food Standards Code.
