1. Chest or island?

• Chest freezers are ideal for bulk back-of-house storage.
• Island freezers have sliding glass lids so customers can browse from above, which suits supermarkets, butchers and convenience stores.

2. Choose the size

Check the capacity in litres and the width. Use the Capacity and Width filters on this page to find models that fit.

3. Think about access

Deep chest freezers can make it harder to reach stock at the bottom. Baskets and dividers help keep things organised.

4. Temperature and climate

Check the maximum ambient temperature in the spec table, and choose a tropical-rated model if your kitchen or bar runs hot.

Food that's meant to be frozen must stay frozen. Avoid loading in large amounts of warm product at once, keep door seals clean, and check the temperature regularly.
